Tai Chi Classes
The Tai Chi class take place in an informal relaxed and friendly atmosphere where you can lose yourself in your practice. Your instructor is there to guide you and teach you the different aspects of Tai Chi (qigong, foot work, form etc) and to ensure you are practicing them in the correct way.
The standard class structure of a class is as follows:

  • Warm-up - gently loosens your muscles, tendons and joints focusing your attention on your body

  • Qigong - translated as "energy work" or "breath work", trains muscle and neurological coordination which improves your ability to move more smoothly and generate energy flow around your body

  • Foot work - focuses attention on stepping and moving smoothly

  • Form instruction and practice - instruction on postures and time for individual practice.

  • Two person exercises - develops the coordination and sensitivity of movement.

  • Relaxing meditation - relaxes and allows the student to internalise the learning from the lesson.

Sticking hands class is for those who want to understand more of the martial side and is a critical link between the form and application.
